I thought this movie was going to be Shakespearian type, but it wasn't. It took place in the 1800's and made me laugh how different things were back then. Example: man meets woman & proposes marriage to her immediately. No dating, no time in between, just let's get married! I did like the movie. Carrie Mulligan is one of my favorite female actresses.

good plot twist, romantic but predictable

Bueatifull visuals - the plot needed some additional depth particularly in the area of character development - compare to depth of character in pride and prejudice .... Versus this film where there just needed to be additional character layering - nice film overall clearly invoking a romantic time period ...
