A fun time, especially in IMAX. However, it's pretty much a direct remake of the animated version. Not sure it adds anything to the original other than stellar scenery. Wish they had tried something a little different, like sticking closer to the books instead.

The scenery was great. Using actors instead of all animation was more appealing to an adult audience, at our screening near the end of the film a child who was so enamored of the film yelled out "he's alive"! It was charming.

Best live action remake I’ve seen so far!!

I was pleasantly surprised by it! Aside from a few select scenes, it's really beautiful. Despite being live action, the dragons were animated so well. The cast really manages to embody the characters too, so many little mannerism were picked up from the original movie.
