UNCLE FRANK is a wonderful, warmhearted film set in the state where I was born and filmed in the state where I grew up and now live 72 years later. It far exceeded my expectations, because it look an unfamiliar path to tell a familiar story. I had a second cousin who could have been Frank, and he did move to Greenwich Village to be a singer and actor. So, I was deeply moved to see characters from the life that he might well have lived. I don't know if he ever reconciled with his ultra-religious mom and the rest of my father's family, but I like to think that he did. I know we loved him.

Paul Bettany is outstanding as Uncle Frank. He perfectly portrayed the odd uncle at the beginning of the film. Just like Beth, the audience will become so intrigued by Uncle Frank. They will want to know more about him and more about what he thinks. Soon enough Paul Bettany takes us into Frank's unexpected world and with that comes a lot of laughs and a lot of pain. The interactions between these characters feel so real. I imagine many people watching this film will connect to it in ways they didn't expect.\rAnd seriously. Paul Bettany can act!
