This is practically a shot for shot / word for word re-telling of the original film in a different format. It’s nice that other more adult content like swearing, sex, or more graphic violence were not added. This is still a movie kids can enjoy. The dragons and fights are more scary for younger audiences in live action than in the animation.

If you were a fan of the original animated film you will love this movie. The dragons looked amazing and the actor who played Hiccup looked just like his animated counter part. Gerard Butler commanded your attention and Nick Frost stole the every scene he was in.

A fantastic live action adaptation with beautiful cinematography and incredible cgi. The actors did an amazing job at recreating these characters. If you liked the original you’ll like this one.
