Very good, not as scary as I thought but more disturbing. Killing and torturing small children in a movie is not something I am used to and was upsetting. Also, why didn't they use more of the original clips from the original movie. The recreations were good but seems like it would have been more authentic to have the actual flash backs from the original Shining. Would recommend.

I enjoyed the little twists and turns.

Doctor Sleep does so many things well that the few missteps along the way don't detract from the overall movie. The cast is fantastic and director Mike Flanagan has created an effective thriller that expertly weaves the world of The Shining into this sequel. I would actually rate this at 3.5 stars, but that option wasn't available.

Overall I thought it was good - I’d score it a 3.5/5. But I do think it was uneven in tone and quality. Ewan McGregor was solid but some of the supporting actors aren’t at the same caliber and struggled to convey real emotions. Nothing is left to the imagination either. Still entertaining though it doesn’t live up to Kubrick’s vision.
