Delivers exactly what one could hope for in a movie you go into with full awareness of the subject matter (it’s a rabid chimp). Amazing practical effects, doesn’t reinvent the wheel plot-wise - an archetype of animal horror, though, a successful entry into a subgenre that, while never since reaching heights of those such as Jaws or The Birds, still produces fun gems like Primate here and there.

Excellent plot with twist throughout. Kept me on the edge of my seat at various times. There are some gory scenes throughout.

Overall good movie that kept us entertained. For someone who isn't versed in wild animals, I will say I learned a lot.

Primate was a thrilling story full of surprise and shock with blood and gore in the most uncomfortable ways. It keeps you at the edge of your seat with unexpected actions taken by Ben during the majority of the movie. The cast does an excellent job of creating an engaging and terrifying setting at the place where one should feel the safest-at home. Very recommendable movie if you enjoy bloody gore
