Although I did find parts of the story very interesting, I also didn't at the same time. I do believe Joaquin Phoenix did a wonderful job playing the part. More of the actual story and less of the group meetings would have made it better for me.

while there were a few good performances (Joaquin Phoenix and Jonah Hill) I found the movie overall a bit on the slow side.

Overall just sad and depressing. The main character is an alcoholic and in a wheelchair. I saw it for free and yet considered leaving halfway through. It got slightly better, there were redeeming moments but do not spend your money on this one. Or your time. Unless you want dreary throughout.

Not a good movie by any stretch. Slow drawn out story would not recommend
