A nice family movie suited for young kids, and pre-teens. My daughter and I thought it was a bit too slow at times. The sad or quiet moments were too long. Great visual effects. Well acted.

If someone didn’t read the book, they probably won’t enjoy it. If they read and liked the book, they’ll enjoy it.

Loved that the family was multi racial and the strong presence of people of color in the film. But the script didn't imo adequately convey the strong points of the book and the acting was weak. At no point was I genuinely moved by anything, then whole movie felt flat and uninspired.

The meaning behind the story was great. I think it was too dark for a Disney movie.
