It was very juvenile for a PG movie.

Very bland retreading of kids' movie tropes, along with unrealistic and slow pacing, unlikable characters, and a very weak plot. The trailer made this film look a lot more interesting than it was. The fact that I had to keep looking at my watch to see how much longer the movie was is definitely a sign that this will not be the next Despicable Me.

You can tell that this movie was written to sell toys. There were some funny parts but they were all released in the trailers. The Rabbit with the Napoleon complex stole the show, and not in a good way. I could have done without that part with the anthropomorphic sausages. This was a movie with great animation and a tone of potential that was ruined by a very poor script.

There are animated movies created for families in mind and then there are animated movies created for children. I'd put this one in the for children category. My 8 year old son enjoyed the film though. There were quit a few slow spots in the movie but was still fairly enjoyable. It is not a must see but if you don't have anything else to do with children on a rainy day, I would recommend.
