It was a very slow start. The entire row I was on and half the row in front of me went to sleep. A lot of us ending up leaving about 45 minutes in.The previews were amazing of the movie, but it didn’t capture me like that once there.

This is not a good movie. There was no reason to like Paolo (Getty's grandson), there was never one moment when the viewer would have thought he was in danger and the character of J. Paul Getty was over the top. He played like Scrooge McDuck with his tales of money, money, money. The one scene that was just over the top was when Abigail Getty had the newspapers delivered to J. Paul. The papers contained the photo of the ear. When the wind blew them around it was too staged. Not a good film

Storyline was slow. Cutting through various time periods, made the story feel cumbersome and, at times, difficult to follow due to it's inability to hold my attention. The trailer made it seem as if mom was a female lion who would stop at nothing to get her cub back, but that passion from the trailer did not carry over to the actual film. In the end, there was no big "take down" and I felt robbed of the joy or relief that mom and son should have had when reunited. Instead they were stoic.
