A different type of "coming of age" set in an oppressive 1970's criminal backdrop. Jean is almost numb, allowing life to happen around her until she's forced to flee w/her baby & hide from the repercussions of her husband's thug life. Slowly, she awakens to the danger around her & in the end, she's taking matters into her own hands. She finally decides to fight...not only to survive, but to live. It's a slow burn, tense at times, leading to Jean's climatic kill. I wish they had developed Cal & Teri's characters further & explained some of the background in more detail.

smooth, suspenseful, and sleek! very cool aesthetic with the 70's vibe.... very well acted... very well written. Meat and potatoes at it's near best!\r
