I highly anticipated the film based on my enjoyment of "The Conjuring", "Conjuring 2" and "Annabelle Creation" but this was more like the first "Annabelle". Besides featuring a memorable monster, little stood out. By explaining so much about Valak's origin, it lost its appeal. The more you saw it front and center, the less scary it became. Good atmosphere and background scares, however.

There was nothing new about the movie. It felt a generic horror movie with all the cliches like creaking doors, characters walking around and disappearing in the dark and so on. There was nothing particularly memorable about the movie and moreover at time it felt like it was dragged out. The previous two editions of the franchise were much better. This movie had nothing new to offer so felt boring

I was really looking forward to this movie, but it just wasn’t scary! I wish it had left more to the imagination, like Blair Witch or Paranormal Activity. The cast was great though.Best part of the movie was Frenchie and the humor. It had some surprisingly funny moments that were the most memorable and entertaining parts of the movie.
