A delightful, enjoyable, fun-for-the-whole-family holiday popcorn flick! As a long-standing fan of the 1995 classic with Robin Williams, I’ve enjoyed the fresh take with these Jumanji films. This one, while not as surprising or as intense as it’s predecessor, was still entertaining and fun. While I felt it at times (to borrow a tool from the film), all over the map, the core messages of friendship, loyalty, and determination stood firm and visible the entire film.

It has some funny bits, though it lacks the freshness and excitement of the prior film. I didn't love Johnson's attempt to channel DeVito, but I do think Awkwafina nailed it.

Entertaining, but not as good as the first. It was surprisingly well-acted by Dwayne Johnson / Kevin Hart / Karen Gillan / Jack Black, in that I could see the mannerisms of the real-life characters. I did feel there should have been a little more interaction among the four original friends, either in the "real world" or in Jumanji. The avatar death scenes felt a little flat and predictable. The gags were hit & miss. Some were quite hilarious, others were a bit of a groaner and maybe played out.

I think the movie by itself was funny but it was just too close to the first movie. The basic structure and events were very similar, just some of the characters were added. It wasn't my favorite but it was a good laugh.
