An interesting look into a dysfunctional family.

It is a very good film about a tragic family life from which children grow into strong adults. However, the film glossed over many details that left one confused about how the family actually survived with no money, making it somewhat unbelievable. The memoir is more realistic.

Interesting characters that made you feel angry yet sympathetic. Excellent acting but drawn out in some parts. Didn't need to be that long.

Disturbing subject matter, but it was handled well by the movie and cast. I think it clearly showed the struggle of living in a dysfunctional family and the conflicting feelings that brings to those affected by addiction in the people they look up to and/or love
