It was a really good movie, but they could have shortened some of the court scenes a little bit. Certain parts seemed a little drugged out.

While predictably marching towards its verdict, Foxx and Jones deliver solid performances. The plot has a unique racial bias layer which separates it from many of John Grisham's potboilers and makes Foxx's character more reminiscent of Atticus Finch. However, when I saw the movie in the theatre, the closed captioning was turned on which I found distracting.

I really enjoyed the movie! Some scenes and lines were a bit cheesy, but it was a very good movie overall. As a law student, I noticed that some the the courtroom scenes definitely stray from what would be allowed in actual court, but the simplification of cases was probably necessary to appeal to a broader audience. I appreciated the humor and themes on racial and socioeconomic justice throughout the film.

Engaging and funny, longer than I expected. I would recommend to others. Loved both Jamie Foxx and Tommy Lee Jones performance.
