A softball at making an actual horror movie that it should on an audience with an incomplete plot line. Plot line was disconnected from the Warren couple (the Conjouring).

This film focused more on making the dialogue funny than making the film scary. The few jump scares that were in the film were also not effective. Wish they would have taken more time to make this film as scary as possible.

Was disappointed. Really was looking forward to it. Found it funnier than scary. A few jump in your seats moments but a boring story line and just never lived up to the hype for me.

The gothic sets are great and there are some interesting elements but as a whole, the film is convoluted and the attempts at comedy to lighten the mood fall flat. Some of the dialogue is too silly.
