This movie knows what it is and uses that to its advantage. Halle Berry is believable even if the plot isn't. It's fun in a crowd atmosphere.

The film was intense, but dragged a bit in parts. Overall it was a pretty good nail biter. The preview audience talked out loud and laughed a lot during the movie, which ruined the excitement in parts.

While KIDNAP isn't Halle Berry's Atomic Brunette, it's not nearly as bad as the whiners on Rotten Tomatoes insist. Halle carries the film ably, as to be expected. Her momma bear fiercely never relents. The child actors don't have much to do, other than to be imperiled. The perps are disgusting cretins with no redeeming qualities except in the after life. Extreme violence. Not for young children
