I felt the main characters were too young. I also liked some of the features. Pretty cool animation.

Liked the visuals mostly. Perhaps it was the projector but it was fuzzy at times. Seemed like the graphic artists used every trick they knew how and it was a little overwhelming at times. Some of the chase scenes were a bit sickening and so visually overwhelming that it was disturbing. Plot was decent and the concept of the virtual marketplace was cool. Creature effects were very creative but some of them were direct rip-offs of Star Wars. Rihanna's part was fun. Thought the romance writing was weak. Loved the mul people.

Valerian was good. I loved the world they made up, the other dimension in the Big Market was a fantastic new spin on these movies! The CG & the story line were phenomenal. I was hoping for something more like The Fifth Element, but was let down by that aspect. The comedic relief, was barely there, they definitely needed more, only memorable part were the duck looking trio. The main actors could have been, or made to look a little bit older. But I haven't read the book (heard its a young adult story) so perhaps I would feel differently if I did. It just felt like if he's supposed to be that high of a rank he would be a little older. Anyways, the other thing that I didn't like was Rihanna's part. It's like they specifically made that part of the movie just to fit her. It was a bit too much time wasted on her, it felt forced. All in all it was an entertaining movie, but not epic.
