Very disappointed that this movie was part of the conjuring universe. Did not like the story either.

It wasn’t scary. It took to long to get started.

The newest instalment in the Conjuring universe had the potential to be something more, but ends up being just another generic horror film. This really surprises me because of James Wan's writing credit. The film lacked the authentic storytelling that makes The Conjuring 1 and 2 so good; both horror films not simply relying on scares.

It started off good enough, but I think with the source material it was a bit of a let down. The end was pretty cheesy. They could have built a stronger story line. I mean they set it in a castle in Romania. They could have done so much! I did like the few true elements that were added in, ie the grave bells. The acting was decent and some of the jump scares early on in the movie were fun.
