I loved the first trainspotting and felt that this was an appropriate and satisfactory continuation of the first film. A very fun and intense experience overall that was different enough from the first to make it feel new and exciting rather than just a rehash. People have said they felt lost during the film because they didn't see the first, but I still hesitate to give a lower review because I think asking the audience to see the first film beforehand is not asking too much. They are a pair.

I had not seen the first Trainspotting, but the film was great and now I want to go see the original.

Excellent! Rarely does a sequel live up to the original. T2 surpassed it!
