This movie told some of the life story of Joy Mangano, played by Jennifer Lawrence. Jennifer Lawrence does an excellent job in the role. Robert De Niro plays her dad and also does an excellent job. Bradley Cooper, however, didn't get much to work with. I was disappointed in his role. The movie has too many slow parts which make it a bit long for my taste, but otherwise entertaining.

Uplifting story with top notch acting. Great story!

David O. Russell did it again. Immensely entertaining movie, with a wide array of well-played characters and a solid recreation of the 70's rising industry of the home shopping network shows. But the focal point remains Jennifer Laurence, who delivers an impressive Oscar worthy performance as a struggling single mother trying to make ends meet while taking care of her somewhat dysfunctional family

I really enjoyed it. Jennifer Lawrence was great. I found it a bit long it could have been shortened by about 15 minutes. I loved the story line, and it was completely clean, no nudity or language which was very refreshing.
