A magnificent Jungian exploration of the self.

Damn near every moment of this is dripping with the same mythic energy of evil that's been honed through Eggers' past work, brought to a chilling new height here. As desensitized as I am to horror, I found myself regularly unnerved and shifting in my seat. Some all timer horror sequences in here, particularly the opening. Also easily one of my favourite scores of the year. Darkness hasn't looked so good on film in a long time. Lily-Rose Depp & Bill Skarsgard are unreal. Thank you Robert Eggers for making one of the best (and only) gothic horror films in recent memory.

Terrific film. Loved the dark theme and design of Count Orlok. The imagery for the jump scares were scary and just the right amount.
