At times the set design and atmosphere brought some intrigue. But the film never was able to really provide solid scares and what was there was alot of repeating the same lackluster jumps scares over and over. The performances were solid and the make up effects were good. But unfortunately nothing else rose above the level of a generic horror film.

Typical movie following conjuring storylines

Fun visuals, but a weak story and cheap, predictable scares.

I would recommend it to The Conjuring fans so they can follow the saga. The story and plot seemed pretty good but I didn't love the execution, I thought it had a lot of horror movies cliches and that made it extremely predictable and left the scares at only jump scares. I think the make up could also be better as once the anticipation fear went away, the 'monsters' weren't really that scary.
