It was interesting. I appreciated the story-line, although the film was slightly slow in certain areas. The addiction references were on point because it spoke to how they can shift from one thing to another. The kids were super cute and gave this an extra star.. Realistic and could happen to anyone.

Very moving and sometimes hard to watch as Ruben struggles to face his new reality. I was impressed by Riz Ahmed’s portrayal of a character that had a lot of flaws but demonstrated a lot of strength in not falling back into his addiction. Great story but needed more of a wrap up for the ending.

I wasn't sure in the beginning as it was loud and heavy metal rock and screaming for awhile. Audible and visual art is how I would classify this. It made me have empathy for deaf people. The protagonist wanted instant gratification after the surgery and he didn't understand that yes you will hear but not the same. This film made me stop taking my sense of hearing for granted. My mom would always say turn my music down and now I get it. That rehab facility was awesome! I wish they would've focused more on feeling the vibration of music. Take drumming to another level.

Wonderfully executed drama. Loved the way the audience could experience the muffled and distorted sounds to really understand what the character was dealing with in regards to learning to navigate the world. The ending was not the usual happy ending but satisfying in the sense that the character found his stillness and peace.
