Thought this movie was very well done - I saw the original a number of years ago and wouldn't want to compare the two - I really like the acting and the effects - very well done.

Acting of course not as strong as original production but action scenes were excellent

Very Good remake. Great movie for the family

Very good script. Saw the 1959 version. Liked it as I recall. Obviously, film making technologies have allowed the video and sound to be much more spectacular. Acing in this version was above average. Not sure it added much being in 3-D. Overall, both my wife and I enjoyed it and rate is a 4-star production.
