Too many script-dramatized scenes that bordered on being ridiculous - the worst was about the car door not being able to close during the beginning of the race and yet there was no subsequent mishap or any mention of the door being replaced.Were it not for the A-listed actors, Christian Bale and Matt Damon, and their good performances, I would have rated this movie worse.

I've seen much better films on racing Christian was alright but Matt I wasn't buying him as Shelby.

Just so-so, but the racing scenes are good if one can overlook the fact that the drivers running neck and neck continue to glare at each other rather than watching the track while they drive. The Miles family story arc took up too much time, needed more editing. Musical score was disappointing, ordinary and heavy-handed.
