I had not read the book. Interesting storyline, but the movie was too long. A number os scenes could have been shortened.

Interesting story and well acted, but way too long. Felt the middle section establishing the friendship between young Theo and Boris dragged on quite a bit. The film is beautifully shot, but not moving enough in my opinion. It doesn’t grab you emotionally like it should.

It was too slow paced for me. It got boring within the first hour, and thankfully picked up and got more interesting. It was also unnecessarily long. It was just ok for me.

The story was OK but it was an artsy movie so some of the scenes were longer than they needed to be. It was almost 2 hours 29 minutes. They could have easily made it a 2 hours long movie.
