Difficult to watch, but so very worth it.

A worthwhile exploration of life as a newly deaf person. The acting was very good and I found myself invested in the characters and wanting all to have a positive outcome.

Compelling.

Very good film, very dynamic and keeps viewers interested and anticipating what's next. Also very powerful messages about a variety of topics, and a good showcase of the complicated dynamics between the hearing and deaf world. All of the actors did a fantastic job, and I really enjoyed viewing this film. One critique however is the cutting off of signs on the bottom of the screen, and Joe's near-perfect lip-reading ability is a bit stereotypical and inaccurate in representing the Deaf community.
