Great movie - different than any that I have seen recently. Love the relationship between the brothers. I felt it was realistic - parents were getting divorced, teen having a crush on a girl and tries to impress. It brought a lot to think about - kids living environments and how they affect the way they act towards others. Just didn't love the ending .. thought it was a bit unrealistic.

It was clever and sweet. There were some.slow spots, but overall it was good. Some very well written parts and well.acted. I was surprised I liked the film since I really dislike 80s music, etc. The original songs were good, but John Carney's always are.

As someone who lived through the American-version of this time period (I was around the same age as Cosmo in the mid-80s), this music was like a warm, wonderful walk down memory lane - bullies and all. I loved the music, loved laughing at the ridiculousness of the acid-washed denim everywhere, and was touched by the hope amongst so much hopelessness. I didn't love the kids smoking everywhere.
