Having read the books, I was surprised that this movie only covered ~50% of book 1. There were some great moments, but I sometimes felt that the pace was very slow. I wish I had seen it in IMAX.

The time flew by and I was disappointed when it ended.

It’s best to read the book before seeing this movie, but nonetheless I did really enjoy it. The visuals were intriguing and the movie was well cast and acted. Some parts were difficult to hear.

The beginning narration reminded me of AtLA's first episode's narration and with no knowledge of the book, it felt like a scifi version of tLotR: the fellowship of the ring movie in terms of pacing. I also realize Zendaya will play a significant role in the future of the franchise, but the trailers overexaggerated her importance within the singular film.
