Gritty, exciting undercover drug drama.

The Infiltrator frames a Feds vs. drug cartel noir led by a brilliant Bryan Cranston with the support of a stellar cast including Diane Kruger, John Leguizamo, Olympia Dukakis and Ben Bratt. Agent Cranston goes undercover in an elaborate sting to launder billions of drug money through his businesses into banks complicit with the cartels. Cranston targets the leaders of this international criminal organization posing as a successful businessman with the ability to scrub billions in Pablo Escobar’s drug money. The film charts the process to gain the confidence of the cartel through a series of tests culminating in an ominous flight to Colombia followed by a blindfolded Cranston holding on in the back of a jeep racing through the jungle to an eerie cartel hideout. The cartel, its captains and enforcers test the resolve of Cranston and cast where a wrong answer results in death. The script is not without comic relief from the tension that provides the audience a menacing ride through the drug wars of the 1980s. The memories of those drug wars are all too fresh today given the USA’s appetite for drugs that the Infiltrator won’t allow the audience to forget.
