Had some really neat ideas, very well shot, had some plot holes you could drive a truck through. While Barbarian was better, I’ll still see his next one

Zach Cregger needed a cowriter for this one. This movie is bloated and overstays its welcome. His signature perspective act structure backfired by having far too many characters. While the actors give good performances aside from main 3 they aren't given much to do. The reveal of the villain is so underbaked and has no true reason for her actions. The camera work is superb and there's a one-shot take that builds perfectly on the suspense However the comedic elements cut any suspense or tension build throughout.

The film delivers an ambitious concept with dark fairy-tale intensity and psychological undertones, reminiscent of Se7en (1995). It’s bold and complex, offering something meaningful. However, the storytelling stumbles due to structure and pacing issues. The anthology format, while promising, drags in practice, with unnecessary scenes and momentum-killing moments. The horror relies more on gore than suspense, resulting in an unsettling rather than terrifying experience.
