Excellently acted movie about an extremely dysfunctional family.

A moving story about overcoming -- and respecting -- where you come from. Excellent acting by the actor who played the younger -- not the youngest -- Jeannette. Costume designer went overboard in dressing Jeannette in NYC to contrast her with her parents. Irma, Jeannette's grandmother -- gives hillbillies a bad name.
