Over all a good movie, and good acting. However, the movie was slow with little dialog between actors.

Good period piece, beautiful scenery, a little slow at times.

Pretty good love story which took forever to come to fruition. I really feel like Gabriel could have prevented the marriage to Troy if he would have told her that Troy was supposed to marry her former employee.

As a movie it was lovely, lush and beautifully photographed. I had a bit of trouble understanding all the words with the British accents. I bristled a bit at the content, but that is not the movie's fault! I have not read the book but from reading a summary online, it appeared to be a pretty good "translation" for the screen (except the lack of exploration about what happened to poor Boldwood)
