Superb Acting! Award Winning Film. Enjoyed It!

Superb acting; powerful drama, excellent casting. Should be nominated for an academy award. A little long.

I figured I would like this movie because it's been around for so long as a play. I was not prepared to be so thoroughly captivated by a drama that was almost entirely dialogue among a family and friend. Very well done with an outstanding cast.

Denzel and Viola brought this stage play to life! August Wilson's works are generally gripping, but the two powerhouse stars made this translation from the page to the big screen, seamless. You felt each of the characters' angst with their life choices, and you became a part of the story yourself. Excellent showing...now I wish I could've seen these two on the stage.
