Both Ciaran Hind and Lesley Manville were great in spite of the lousy material that they had to work with. I suspect the book is much much better than this horrible adaptation that is boring and slow moving.

It was very boring to watch

Overall the movie was boring and was the first time I ever purchased coffee at a movie theater to try to stay awake after a day of work. Movie kind of drug on. Didn't really have a solid base to get to know the characters. Their trip to Amsterdam was strange and the movie had a lot of voids in it
