Possibly slow at times, and a little bit predictable, this film is indeed Guillermo Del Toro's best work since Pan's Labyrinth. It is beautiful, sweet, funny, violent, dark, and romantic. The scenes are rich with detail, and the acting by the whole cast is superb.
