Leslie Odom Jr and Kingsley Ben-Adir are phenomenal, really all of the performances here are. Regina King does a fantastic job from a technical standpoint with some beautiful shots and cuts. The movie has some great back and forth moments but suffers lull moments in much of the time you're waiting for the passions of Malcom X and Sam Cooke to flair up again.

One Night In Miami....brings four of the most noteworthy, dynamic and interesting black personalities of the 1960's together for one night just after Muhammad Ali (Cassius Clay at the time) wins the title. It is clearly adapted from a play and creates a fascinating dialogue on the times and struggles of the black community and the different view points on how black people with a hand in the limelight, should use the power they possess to raise the entire community up. It is entertaining and thought provoking. Regina King should be proud.

Inspired by real events, this was a well-portrayed, thought-provoking reimagining of what may have transpired between 4 historical figures behind closed doors on one very specific night. All 4 actors served their characters well, and the videography was effective at setting tension and mood as appropriate. By no means is this a light watch, but it is one of historical importance that still has ongoing relevance today.
