A little slow. Not much interest. I usually like movies with Mark Wahlberg but this one just did not keep my attention.

well done with poor ending. Ridiculous.

"The Gambler" is one of those movies that I've been looking looking forward to this Awards contender season that was sadly underwhelming. I just didn't care for Mark Wahlberg's former author/literature professor/gambling addict/all-around douchebag character throughout the movie. I was really pissed off that the very talented Brie Larson was totally wasted in this film. I will say that John Goodman and "The Wire" alum Michael K. Williams were the best parts of the film. "The Gambler" wasn’t one of the worst movies I have seen all year, but with that director ("Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" helmer Rupert Wyatt) and cast, it should’ve been terrific.

Mark wahlberg does better as a n action star. I did not enjoy this movie at all.
