As a fan of the Broadway show, this was a great adaptation. One of the better movie musicals that I've seen in a long time. I loved how the show was also updated to tackle some more current issues.\r\rMy only disappointment was the change of Nina's story. While I didn't mind Mrs. Rosario not being in it, I felt like it lost something by having Nina working 2 jobs, and by losing Mr. Rosario's Inuti

It’s a very emotional, inspiring story. I became a fan through my partner who growing up as one of 4 brown kids, 1st Gen Mexican-American, in a predominantly white part of a NJ town, seeing an off Broadway performance as a kid really spoke to him and set him on an incredible journey as he’s finishing up his music education degree, ready to uplift students like him.

Great representation of what our community looks like. The movie reminded me of going off to college as a first generation Latina.
