Even though the plot is kind of basic and the first hour is too long, the great cast and the visuals made it work!

This is a typical Guillermo del Toro film; the fantasy intermingled with violence so if you are not aware of this director, you might be turned off. I really liked it.

Beauitfully made film that had romance, action, song and dance, and suspense. I highly recommend it!

I loved the cinematography. The story felt one-sided. Not much on the creature or even his name. I wanted to learn more about that but I enjoyed the love story. It was funny and exhilarating! I loved it!
