The wasn't terrible, I just felt like it missed out on some good plot points that I started, and instead developed plot points of much more blockbuster themes. The acting was good, as was the cinematography, but all together the film just felt pretentious. The unnecessary black and white or the slow motion moments had no purpose in the story, but instead felt like a gimmick attempting to distinguish itself as more unique, instead of being a generic holidays film that it really is.

Christopher Plummer did a really good job playing Getty. He really made you almost hate him for being so stingy with his money when he refused to pay the ransom for his grandson, yet spent tons of money on artwork for his home. The acting was good in this and it kept you interested in what was going on. I would recommend this, but not for kids.
