director Simon Curtis brilliantly takes a story about simple childhood experience and allows his characters to develop their own complex personalities. A wonderful father-son story where each has the unimportant impressions of the world stripped from them by two great wars, leaving them with nothing left to distract them from what they were looking for...the understanding and love for each other.

It was pretty depressing, but interesting to learn the background of the Pooh phenomenon, or a least a version of events. I'm glad I saw it, but I wouldn't bring a small child with me.
