Overall a good time. It took itself seriously, and had some surprisingly touching moments!

The best of the WB / Legendary reboot series, and in particular a big step up from GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS, which wasted a really good cast. This one was fun.

The CGI was really good, but it seemed like a really long movie for nothing to really happen.

Great visuals during the Hollow Earth sequences. Very happy to see Ronny Chieng and Brian Tyree Henry in this, but his character and those he shared scenes with had zero agency. I could think of only one incredibly minor thing they did that had a semblance of an impact; the rest of the time they were there as a lens for the camera. Weak villains. Decent job humanizing Kong. Overall, 6/10.
