A slow burn that definitely pays off. Michelle Williams shines as Gail Harris; her frustration at Getty's unwillingness to pay the ransom to get her son back transcends the screen. You, as a viewer, see how much of 'cheapskate' Getty was and get just as frustrated and involved as Gail fights to bring her son home. Despite the controversy with Kevin Spacey, recasting Christopher Plummer in the film was an A+ choice. Plummer brings a sense of realism to a man that was out of this world.

I really enjoyed this movie. It was well written and directed. It had lots of suspense. it had some graphic parts that I would not recommend for young kids.

The movie was very interesting, I do however wish the timeline was explained clearer and kept its historical accuracy.I also wish the part about the "priceless" artifact/trinket was explained to show why Mr. Getty would tell the family that the trinket was an expensive artifact.

The challenge for a docudrama orbio pic is to keep a viewer's interest even though the ending is already known. This film was a fascinating recounting of the Getty kidnapping, with excellent performances by the cast.
