A story of vengeance and revenge that fell kinda short for me. It seems like the story was more focused on cinematic aspect and fell short on the plot.

Being a fan of Robert Eggers, I was tremendously disappointed in The Northman. Good stories elicit some measure of pathos in the audience, at least for one character – not so in The Northman. Even dark and brooding tales ask for your participation in rooting for a “winner” of the conflict, here we couldn’t care less.\r\r2+ hours of anger, rage, and betrayal… wrapped in scenes of gruesome violence… at a time when we’re asked to feel empathy with our Eastern European brothers and sisters during a brutal and senseless real-world seige. The timing for Focus couldn’t be worse.
