we lived through what this movie is about - even though they went to great lengths to explain the different financial fraudulent acts going on - but basically I didn't understand most of it. I also didn't understand what happened to some of the key players in the movie - especially Christian Bales character - it says he shut down the Fund after making billions of dollars for the fund - WHAT?

This film worked really hard to make a confusing subject palatable. In succeeded in many areas but not so much in others. I, for one, felt I left the theatre enlightened and more informed about the 2008 financial crash, but yet was left scratching my head on some of the terminology regularly used ("What was a Synthetic CDO again?"). I would say as a dutiful American it's worth at least a rental.

Not as entertaining as I thought it would be. More of a documentary but lots of info left out. Steve Carell did a GREAT job.
