Enjoyable original story (if you haven't already read the book) and makes for a fun night out for the family. Gosling is charming, funny and shines in the main role. Although the film's running time clocks in over 2+ hours, it never gets boring . Would definitely recommend seeing it in the theatre.

I have never read the book, so I was able to watch a science fiction film instead of having to compare a story to another medium. That being said, It was HIGHLY enjoyable. The story on screen is told relatively well. The pacing is extremely slow, with a runtime of 2:40 its felt much longer. The flashbacks throughout became a nuissance into the 3rd act. Ryan Gosling does the Ryan Gosling thing and just smears the whole film with charm and just perfect likeability. A hug from a rock never meant so much. Twas a good time and worth seeing, just make sure the theater is comfy.

Well done from the book. Science skipped and needs a warning as migraines for me and friend has vertigo that was slightly triggered but this was GREAT!!! We are both scientists and this was a love song to teachers in stem and us worked or working in stem

Project Hail Mary is a gripping, hard sci-fi puzzle box with a brilliant central relationship, but it occasionally suffers from tonal whiplash. While protagonist Ryland Grace’s "science-teacher" humor sometimes provides welcome levity and makes dense astrophysics accessible, it just as often undercuts the novel's apocalyptic stakes. When facing mind-bending isolation and the potential extinction of humanity, Grace's relentless sarcastic quips and pop-culture punchlines sometimes deflate the tension rather than letting the profound gravity of the situation breathe.
