It had me until the half way point in the middle. The studio should have done pre screening on this to change the ending and some of the middle. Amy Adams was great and I loved the aliens but it went sideways for me once she was blown out of their ship.

The movie moved along great until the last 20 - 30 minutes and then it hit the wall because of having to process the events they throw at you in a matter of minutes. Next thing you know the movie is over. The acting is top notch, but the reveal is less than spectacular because of the overload of information.

The plot of the movie was good. The did a great job of having a plausible story explaining why the aliens arrived and their purpose. The movie would have been an excellent if they spent less time covering their arrival and their purpose which was to give them a weapon and focused on the development and benefit of learning their non-linear language.
