He is apparently trying to update his style, but it all feels a bit too late to work. Found-footage films have become parodic, and audiences have officially lost interest. Paranormal Activity 4 made half as much as the first film in the series , making Shyamalan’s sudden interest in the subgenre somewhat belated. Over all I will give it a C+ for mild horror and average comedy.

It was an OK movie. What makes this movie terrifying is that it is more realistic and could easily happen. I thought that the brother and sister acted very well. Some criticism is that it was a little predictable (it was either that they weren't their grandparents or that they were some sort of aliens from the dialogue in the movie). Also, it seemed to start out slow and then rushed to end.

I'm not a fan of the hand held camera movies, but I am a fan of M. Night's movies. That said I feel he made it work. The movie had me fascinated from about the point where the kids meet the grandparents, which is about the 15 minute mark. It picks up from there.

Better than his last few movies. You'll definitely jump, you may scream. Pretty good twist at the end but I was a bit disappointed with how it ended. I thought it was a bit anti-climatic.
